Miffy In Fashion

In my opinion, Miffy is always in fashion. But here she is, literally in fashion.

Although Miffy ordinarily goes for a simple blue frock (floral for a very special occasion), a new exhibition, Miffy In Fashion, sees the world’s most famous rabbit wearing haute couture.

The Netherlands Centraal Museum invited Dutch and international fashion designers to create a party dress for Miffy. The designers included Saskia van Drimmelen, Claes Iversen, Jan Taminiau, British label Boudicca and Japanese label Anrealage, and the results are gorgeous.

It’s hard to pick favourites when it comes to Miffy but I do love Clements Ribeiro’s yellow floral ‘ Tahiti hostess’ ensemble. Find your own favourite in the online gallery of designs.

Miffy In Fashion, is showing at the Dick Bruna Huis in Utrecht, The Netherlands until December 31, 2011.

Katrina Whelen

Katrina studied planning and design, did the hard yards working in a big office building and then traded it all in for a relaxing (!) life at home with four children. She now fills her time with writing, completing a degree in genetics and taxiing her children around Melbourne to their various sporting commitments (not necessarily in that order).
