Canadian singer Michael Bublé and wife Luisana Lopilato have confirmed that their 3-year-old son, Noah, is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.
Noah had been unwell with what the family thought was the mumps and had travelled to the US for treatment. It was then that the received the devastating diagnosis, Entertainment Tonight Canada reports.
“We ask only for your prayers”
In a statement posted to Bublé’s Facebook page, the star revealed that the family are putting all efforts into supporting Noah’s treatment and asked that followers and fans pray for their little boy.
“We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US. We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children. Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well.”
“At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy. We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing.”
Watch and wait
Bublé did not reveal further details of Noah’s illness, but his sister-in-law requested the public avoid speculation.
“The only thing I ask is that you don’t speculate because not everyone has children and can understand what this means. Michael and my sister will publish more statements and I can’t say anymore. But it’s not leukaemia or the central nervous system as people are saying. It’s all I can say,” Daniela Lopilato said, news.com.au reports.
Bublé and Lopilato were married in 2011 and have two children together, 3-year-old Noah and 9-month-old Elias.
