If you’d like more than a hundred games for the kids that take up practically zero storage, then read on. LUMOplay is an entirely new kind of toy that shines interactive games right onto the floor, just like playing a giant iPad, only with your feet.
The games are motion reactive, so they respond to bodies moving, toes tapping and arms waving. Games are single or multi player and are not only interactive, but promote being active too. Any parent will agree this has bonafide rainy day sanity saver written all over it.
The LUMOplay projector attaches to the wall via a mounting plate and works best when projected on lighter surfaces. The projector also features an HDMI port so when the kids are tired out from dancing and stomping, LUMOplay can be tilted upwards and used as a regular projector for movie night too.
LUMOplay have roughly 100 games ready to ship with the projector, including dancing games, hockey where you kick the puck with your feet and a Hungry Hippo style marble-eating game called Greedy Gators. There are even games where real-world toys interact with the projected world. LUMOplay recognizes them and paints them with light, turning a toy car into a spaceship which catches on fire when it takes on damage!
The games are aimed at children from two to twelve years old. The bright visuals and simple scenes appeal to young toddlers, whilst older children can play more sophisticated games, use educational applications and even create their own custom games using web-based templates.
LUMOplay are focusing on the commercial market in the immediate future, but this includes day cares, child-focused clinics, sensory rooms, children’s hospitals and playgrounds. An official release date is yet to be announced. Fingers crossed a version for home use is not too far off – we’ll be sure to keep you posted!
