If we had seven words to describe Lulu Stars’ incredible “For the Birds” collection, they would be: it-girl meets wild thing meets majorette. Confused? Trust us when we say, it really works.
Designed in lovely Byron Bay and crafted in Bali, Lulu Stars aims to embody the creativity and free spirit of little girls. “For the Birds” is definitely creative, and the girls who wear the clothes are bold and full of moxie.
But creativity doesn’t mean the clothes don’t fit into regular life. The Beautiful Bird Bolero ($93) looks as fabulous with a dramatic gold and navy vertical stripe maxi dress as it does over a denim overall dress and white sneakers. The Enchanted Wing Kimono ($110) is a great layering piece for transitional autumn weather. When winter comes along, it will look darling peeking out from under the fur coat ($110).
Of course Lulu Stars suits little girls at the opposite end of the spectrum too: those who are all in, every minute of the day when it comes to spangles, sparkles and glitz. These girls are never in jeans. They’re wearing amazing things like the Secret Forest Tutu ($95), and they’ll probably grow up to own shoe collections that rival that of Carrie Bradshaw.
Lulu Stars’ winter collection is available for pre-order locally at Mrs Rabbit.
