I have seen the Philippe Starck Louis Ghost chair (2002) many times in the past and thought it to be an intriguing fusion of two completely different design eras. The shape resembles a 19th century armchair, only modernised and finished off in a very durable polycarbonate material. Old and new integrate in a totally original and brilliant design perfect for a contemporary or traditional home.
Now the manufacturer, Kartell, have introduced the little sister to the Louis: the Lou Lou Ghost chair. Created just for little bottoms, the Ghost chairs are exactly like the Louis, only smaller – and available in eight transluscent kid-worthy colours. I think the chair would be a stunning accompaniment to a desk for drawing, watercolours, studying or just playing. Will it be the red, green, purple or pink?
