‘Wow’ is all I have to say after roaming around the LinenKids website for a good half hour. It’s an educational experience on the benefits and beauty of linen (which I didn’t expect but am pleased to learn) as well as showcasing some breathtaking clothing for our little people.
I have long viewed linen as being a hard-to-manage fabric, always requiring ironing and creasing very easily. I am happy to report my knowledge has been expanded as I now realise that is simply not the case – or that sometimes it’s meant to be creased!
LinenKids, a Lithuanian company started by a mother-of-two, features delightful linen frocks, boys’ suits, magnificent christening outfits and stuffed toys. The colours are natural and muted, keeping in tune with organic linen, except for little splashes of ladybugs or stripes. The linen used in all garments is first rate and top quality which results in unbelievable softness, lasting quality, uniqueness and above all, it’s good for the skin.
I also admire the way in which the clothing is made: handcrafted to order in limited quantities by trusted Lithuanian baby apparel designers and ‘regular’ grandmothers who have preserved the traditional linen handiwork of Lithuania.
