La Coqueta Kids – vintage-inspired Spanish fashion for children and babies

La Coqueta Kids Autumn-Winter 2014

Winter is approaching in the northern hemisphere and the latest range from La Coqueta Kids is so gorgeous, I almost wish it was cooling down here too.

La Coqueta Kids specialises in vintage-inspired clothing with contemporary prints for babies and children. The pieces are all beautifully made but still hard-wearing enough to be passed down to the next baby in line.

The Autumn-Winter 2014 collection is a cosy and nostalgic range that features smocks, suspenders, festive knits, Scottish inspired prints and knee high socks. The shoes are in a class of their own; we love the Mary Janes and pram booties, but the desert boots pack some serious swagger that could work with any look. Rich hues of chocolate brown, berry shades and midnight blue give this range a warm and street-ready appearance.

La Coqueta Kids is what founder Celia Muñoz refers to as her sixth baby. Already a mother of five, this multi-tasking mum sources all the pieces for her brand from the best designers in Spain.

Based in the UK, there is a La Coqueta Kids store in North London that is an experience in itself but never fear, their website has some stunning images and is the perfect mix of style and function. Browse through the girls, boys or babies categories and buy one favourite piece or let La Coqueta do the hard work and purchase one of their ‘looks’ – carefully selected items from the new range have been pieced together to create a classic ready-to-go outfit. You can even select the sizes for each item separately so it will perfectly fit the child in question.

La Coqueta Kids clothing for children and babies can be purchased online through their website. They are based in the UK but do ship internationally.

Kate Thompson

Just back from maternity leave, Kate Thompson is resigned to a house overrun by boys (3 kids, dog and husband). Existing in a phase she affectionately coins ‘monotonous chaos’, this stay-at-home-mum revels in moonlighting as a writer and feeling like a grown up every once in a while. A background in teaching and psychology, she entered parenthood confident she was up for the challenge, but now eats humble pie on a daily basis.
