We know kids love cooking but it can be a fine line between a learning experience and a hazardous situation. Chopping, peeling, grating and stirring are fun activities for kids that build essential life skills, but we can do without the threat of injury while they learn.
Taking the stress out of cooking with kids is an attractive range of gear from Kitchen Kids by Danish designers Josefine Bentzen and Charlotte Skak. Each item is designed mindful of the ways children hold food and operate kitchen equipment. There are clear distinguishers for children to know where to hold the item and which part may be dangerous.
The collection consists of a knife, peeler, mixing bottle, grater with bowl, chopping board and protective mitten and has just won second place in the Bodum Design Awards 2011. We’ll update you when the range is released for sale.
