“She just popped out like a champagne cork” – UK woman delivers her own baby in hospital doorway

We all hope our births will be quick and easy, but this mama has actually managed to deliver her second child in less time than it takes her husband to park the car.

Security footage captures the very brief moment Jessica Stubbins takes to deliver her daughter Lucy in the entrance of Scunthorpe General Hospital.

“I could feel her coming and she just popped out like a champagne cork,” Jessica tells the Daily Mirror.

“It was just one push and the whole lot of Lucy was out. Gravity just took over. It’s just crazy! I was amazed.”

Take a look for yourself!

Holding Lucy in her hands Jessica turns to the door to see her husband Tom returning from parking the car and soon after two nurses arrive to help.

Tom told Good Morning Britain he couldn’t believe Jessica had already given birth when he walked in.

“Jess was saying ‘It’s a girl it’s a girl, I’m sorry, I’m sorry’ because I’d missed it all,” Tom says.

“She felt guilty because I’d missed it and I was just in absolute shock.”

As well as mum and dad little Lucy will also have big sister Penny-Grace to look after her.
