It’s DucDuc, not Goose Goose, for nursery furniture

New York City-based design studio DucDuc has some of the most amazing and innovative children’s furniture I’ve seen, with an unmistakable chicness. We wrote about some of their bunk beds in 2007 and it seems the offerings only got better with time. Each design is obviously laboured over for long hours and delicately formed so the end result is nothing short of perfect.

One of their newest creations is the AJ collection which includes two cots with clever storage, three change tables and an armoire. Each piece is made with hardwood that will last a generation and can be customised with an array of colours. I love the orange, red or grey options.

The two cots, the AJ and the AJ II, both feature all the necessities of a safe and user-friendly baby bed: four mattress height settings, fixed side rails, a wall mount anti-tipping strap and a n optional toddler conversion kit. This, combined with under cot storage and open adjustable shelves or a closed cabinet, provide an ingenious way of storing and space-saving.

Each cot is made to order in the US and waiting times are between 10-12 weeks before shipping. They are priced at US$1450 and US$1495 respectively. Not a cheap option but this is furniture that’s to be invested in and enjoyed by many throughout the years.

DucDuc does not currently ship to Australia but state on their website that you are welcome to contact them with any requests and they will try to accomodate you. Otherwise, you can contact your preferred freight forwarder.
