iPhone + book = amazing

Think phone books are virtually obsolete? Japanese designers have just redefined the phone book and undoubtedly next time you ask your kids to ‘grab the phone book’, they won’t be running for the Yellow Pages.

Japanese company Mobile Art Lab has created the PhoneBook. It’s a traditional children’s book gone high-tech. Slot your iPhone or iPod Touch into the back of the book and activate the PhoneBook app for incredible interactive and animated stories. Confused? The best way to understand the PhoneBook is to see it in action (below).

You can’t help think this is the start of something big. The PhoneBook is available from Amazon Japan for ¥2,980. You can then download the free PhoneBook Ride! Ride! app and you’re all set for your first hybrid book experience.
