Inspector Gadget meets the nappy bag

Without doubt a lot of designer hours are invested in creating nappy bags – prints, plain, pockets, inserts, wet-packs, insulated bottle holders… The list of features goes on and on. It took ages to find the perfect bag so no doubt you feel a little disappointed when ‘dad’ refuses to carry it on his first outing with baby – “It looks like a handbag!” (which is kind of the point, but we won’t go there).

The enterprising dads at DadGear realise that having a baby means no more quick trips out with just the car keys in hand. So how to load up with the necessities (nappies, wipes, change mat and bottle for a start) without having to carry “the handbag”? How about wearing it?!

The ‘wearable nappy bag’ by DadGear features nine pockets (beat that cargo pants) that are big enough to carry nappies, wipes and two bottles. There’s also a changing pad in the back panel and room-a-plenty for keys, a wallet and a phone. I like the nifty pocket for wipes that dispenses on-the-go.

It comes in a vest or jacket style in a range of colours for the fashion conscious.

The Dadgear cargo jackets are arriving in Australia in June and will be available in black or slate from metro mum for $155. You can pre-order through the website now.
