Looking for great rugs for my girls’ bedroom is pretty uninspiring. It seems to me there’s a limited choice of bubblegum pink flimsy small rugs or cartoon characters on shagpile in equally garish colours. So it’s quite refreshing to find something unique.
Indi-B are a Californian-based company who pride themselves in designing rugs that not only brighten up a room but encourage children to think about the patterns and pictures.
So there’s the Botswana one which shows two elephants under an Acacia tree, or there’s a charming vegetable garden complete with bunny. Choose from cool blue tones to warm reds and oranges – I love the balmy feel of these. All the rugs are handmade in India from New Zealand wool. Indi-B are part of the “GoodWeave” certification programme which ensures that adults, not children, make them.
At US$595 for the rectangular and US$575 for the circular, these are certainly an investment buy but look like they’ll last a lifetime. You will need a reshipper as Indi-B don’t yet ship all the way to Australia.
