Hey Mum, I Love You

The Hollywood saying might be “never work with kids or animals”, but when it comes to books for toddlers, words and pictures about baby animals are a winner.

Just in time for Mother’s Day, comes the delightful  Hey Mum, I Love You by Corinne Fenton.

The book is a simple celebration of animal mothers and babies accompanied by large, clear photographs and sweet text that captures the extent of love –

“I love you more than the longest leap, the wobbliest shuffle, or the loudest laugh.”

Kids will find humour in the photographs – giraffes ‘smooching’, a baby tortoise balancing on its mother’s shell and prickly hedgehogs having a cuddle. I suspect mums will like making this little story about the length and breadth of love, a bedtime reading ritual.

Hey Mum, I Love You is suitable for children aged one year and over. It’s available in all good book shops or online at Fishpond and makes a great addition to Hey Baby!, Fenton’s previously released board book for babies. Hey Baby! is also available from Fishpond.
