The Hewitt kids make their acting debut just like mum

We’ve watched them grow up courtside cheering on their famous tennis star dad Lleyton Hewitt, but it seems the Hewitt children are giving tennis the bounce to follow in the acting footsteps of their soap star mum, Bec Hewitt.

Bec was Australian TV’s sweetheart back in the day, winning a Logie for her seven-year role as Hayley Lawson on Aussie soap Home and Away before giving it all away to marry Lleyton.

Eleven years on, her three children – Mia, 10, Cruz, 7 and Ava, 5 – are making their acting debut together in a new commercial for Wonder Smooth Wholegrain bread.

The commercial featuring the photogenic trio was filmed at Australia’s spiritual home of tennis, Melbourne Park.

Mia and Ava sit courtside watching their brother Cruz at tennis training. When lunchtime is called, all three dig in to their lunch boxes to retrieve sandwiches made by mum. Take a look at their budding acting skills for yourself and marvel at just how much they resemble their famous parents.

Mia says making the video was “so much fun”.

“I really enjoyed being on set,” she says. “Ava remembered all of her lines and Cruz couldn’t stop eating the sandwiches between takes.

“He probably ate at least five sandwiches all up. I’m not kidding.”

And to think Bec got her first start in television commercials when she was the same age as Ava.
