With a collection called Camelot, you might think Heavenly Creatures would be all about fussy finery, but you’d be wrong. These clothes are sweet, functional and ready for the playground.
Heavenly Creatures, designed in Melbourne by Alexandra Meehan does a modern take on the regal magic of Camelot.
Decadent, queenly gowns are interpreted as lace trimmed tutus ($48) worn with striped leggings and sneakers. Modern princesses want to bomb down the slippery dip unimpeded, but they don’t mind a bit of tulle either.
Tops ($38) for girls are decorated with prints of opulent jewelled necklaces, and necklines and sleeves are gathered to pretty effect.
For boys, knight helmet prints decorate hardy long sleeved tees ($38), cut snug for flexing those dragon-fighting muscles. Hoodies ($48) have high splits that are bound with bright orange. They allow for maximum mobility, presumably for sword swinging purposes.
Heavenly Creatures is available online and ships in Australia for free.
