The car comes packed in an impressive-looking box and after 10 minutes of simple assembly and 2 minutes of instructions for my almost three-year-old, she was ready to go.
I have to say, she picked it up immediately. In about 5 minutes she was zooming and swerving around our hardwood floors (which the instructions warn can scratch them) and having a great time trying to crash into her younger sister. The car is fast enough to be fun, but not so much as to be dangerous. The big steering wheel makes it easy to control.
I was also surprised at how big the seat was. Many ride-on toys for young kids are so small that the kids outgrow them quickly. The Gyro Car is recommended for children 3-12 years and I believe them. It’s also light enough to carry to the park (or back when your child refuses to ride home).
The cars come in 6 colour combinations and are on sale at the moment for only $79.99, with shipping $12 or $22 depending on your location from the Original Gyrocar Company. $5 from each sale goes to the Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia.
