Gone’s Zooo Animal Lamp – stylish design with a DIY twist

DIY lamps – what a great idea! They make you feel crafty even if you are nothing of the sort. After reading about this brand, I am a big fan. With an ethos to keep design fun – and not snobbish – the two French brothers behind Gone’s home décor products have come up with a range of animal lamps that look great and are fun to assemble.

Usually, I find assembling flat packed products and watching scary movies remarkably similar. I almost walk out in horror but somehow make myself see it through. So, these lamps, which require no screws or glue for assembly of the 18 wooden parts, sound fantastic.

Each Zooo Animal Lamp is designed and manufactured in France and come in the form of a cat, giraffe, bird or rabbit.

Gone’s itself is the creation of two brothers, originally from Lyon in France, who moved to Marseille to create a collection of quirky and playful home objects and fixtures. Marian is a talented designer who has won many design competitions in Europe while Hadrian is a design enthusiast who looks after the business side of things. And both seem to love a laugh!

The children’s Zooo range of lamps follows the success of the Gone’s Fève lamp – a designer DIY lamp for adults.

There are not stockists in Australia yet for the Zooo Animal Lamp so just head straight to the Gone’s online shop to buy one. Prices range from €119 to €129, depending on which animal you pick.
