A friend recently had her first baby. Like all new parents, she is having some good days and some monumentally bad days. I passed on a bit of sage advice that a friend told me when I had my first baby – “The situation is basically workable, which doesn’t detract from the bits that are horrible!” Actually, she might have used a stronger word than ‘horrible’. Either way, her little handwritten note that I used as a bookmark always made me smile when I needed it the most.
Momglish have neat gifts for new and expecting parents to remind them that despite being weighed down by piles of nappies, burp clothes, sleepless nights and perhaps a little crying machine, they still have their sense of humour.
Mostly stationery items, the Momglish range includes notepads, drink coasters, door hangers, sticky notes, journals and more. Standouts are the Guesstation – Are We There Yet? Belly Growth Chart which measures your growing bump from ‘Now Showing!’ through to ‘Caution! Dangerous learning curves ahead!’ and the Fillosophy Breastfeeding Drink Coasters. As someone who has had their fair share of breastfeeding, expressing and bottle feeding I think that ‘Less is not more’ and ‘MPG: Meals per gallon’ on a coaster is pretty funny.
The Guesstation chart and the Fillosophy Coasters are US$12.95 each. Momglish products are available at Egg2Cake – contact Egg2Cake regarding shipping to Australia.
