Funky, inexpensive prints from Printspace

Artists Mara and Nicholas Girling are a husband and wife team from Melbourne who run the gorgeous Printspace. They offer a selection of prints ranging from the charming to the funky.

Mara’s work particularly features quirky hand drawn bird figures and fairytale imagery – I especially like her rendition of the Owl and the Pussycat. But I am perhaps even more drawn to Nicholas’ pieces, which incline to the bold, adventurous and imaginative without, I think, losing any appeal to children.

My husband and I are always on the look-out for art for boys, which possibly doesn’t receive enough attention in the marketplace. Works like ‘My Little Earthling’ (shown below) are certainly worthy of consideration.

These are giclee prints on archival paper, which provides an inexpensive way to get quality wall art for children. Some of the range can be purchased in Australia at The Hip Infant.
