Meet Mayhem, the four-year-old with a killer wardrobe crafted from… paper. Yep, this tot proves the dress-up box needn’t be filled with expensive costumes from every princess movie ever screened. All you need is some paper, some tape and a whole lot of imagination!
Angie Keiser is mum to four-year-old Mayhem (an affectionate nickname) and together, they collaboratively create the most gorgeous dresses I’ve ever seen a four-year-old don, including some brilliant recreations of celebrity and runway styles. But here’s the best bit, most outfits appear to be crafted from items grabbed from the stationery and gift wrapping aisle of the local supermarket and bits and bobs found around your home. That’s right, all you need is a pack of tissue paper and a roll of masking tape and you’re on your way.
I can only imagine how much fun this dressing up activity must be for mum and daughter, and the perfect outlet to release your inner Stella McCartney. Angie has created a blog, Fashion By Mayhem, and uses the hashtag #fashionbymayhem on Instagram to keep track of their creations. Call in for some dress construction inspiration or just to admire the back catalogue of their paper couture collection.
Of course, you want to have a go yourself and we all want to see – the public has embraced Fashion By Mayhem and the hashtag #inspiredbymayhem is popping up all over social media websites including Instagram and Facebook, as kids all over the world enjoy their own craft box creations. So hop to it, grab your tape and put those left over rolls of Christmas wrap to good use!
