Fantastic! Eddie Redmayne and Hannah Bagshawe expecting baby number two

If winning Oscars and other prestigious awards wasn’t enough, British actor Eddie Redmayne and his wife, Hannah Bagshawe, have just announced some other fantastic news – they’re expecting another baby!

Baby makes four

Eddie and Hannah welcomed a daughter, Iris Mary, in June last year, and have now revealed they’re expecting a sibling for their little one-year-old. The adorable couple met when they were at neighbouring boarding schools in England – Eddie attending Eton College the same year as Prince William and Hannah (now a PR executive) nearby at an all girls college. Apparently at the time she and her classmates organised a charity fashion show and good old Eddie (always willing to lend a hand!) volunteered to walk the runway, topless. Phoar!

First comes love…

It’s no wonder these two friends-turned-lovebirds reconnected years later during his downtime on the set of Les Miserables! The actor and 34-year-old PR executive were married in an intimate ceremony at a historical manor house nearly three years ago – around the time 35-year-old Eddie was winning awards for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything – and then little Iris made her appearance in mid 2016.

A fantastic father

Shortly after Iris was born, Eddie opened up on the Ellen DeGeneres Show about becoming a father, indicating it was a role he was definitely destined for – despite the tricky life changes that come with it.

“She is heaven. Her name is Iris… Before you’re a parent you sort of hear people talking about [sleepless nights] and then suddenly you’re the guy who’s floating in constant jet lag with an IV of caffeine. And so I’ve become that person,” he said.

Babies are the best

According to the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them star though, being a father is definitely all that it’s cracked up to be.

“But then occasionally there’s that amazing thing where it’s three o’clock in the morning and you’re sort of gently furious, and you get a little smile and your heart breaks a bit, and it’s all totally worth it,” he gushed.

We can only imagine how chuffed Eddie is going to be with his new little addition! Congratulations Eddie and Hannah!
