Facebook CEO pro-vaccination picture brings out the trolls

The decision about whether to vaccinate your child or not is entirely up to you. Facebook CEO and proud new dad Mark Zuckerberg is pro-vaccination as demonstrated by his recent Facebook photo of adorable baby Max waiting for her shots at the doctor’s office.

What looks like a simple photo of a daddy and his daughter has spurned an online debate that has once again proven that social media shaming is as strong as ever.

Doctor's visit — time for vaccines!

What started as a standard Facebook photo has turned into yet another sensationalised debate, this time with Mark Zuckerberg getting slammed for his decision to vaccinate his daughter.

With 30,000 shares and 71,000 comments, anti-vaxxers have come out from behind their keyboards, criticising the new dad for choosing to protect his daughter from preventable disease.

As one follower puts it, “Injecting newborns and infants with disease and neurotoxins is disgusting science that injures millions every year.”

Another commenter wrote, “I am sorry to see you unnecessarily putting your kid at risk by responding to faux science and propaganda.”

However, not all commenters are against Mark’s choice. One follower writes, “Thank you for being a smart person and doing what’s best for your child and the community.”

Following the death of baby Riley due to whooping cough last year and with the new no jab, no play, no pay vaccination scheme being introduced across Australia, more and more families are immunising their children, not only for their own safety, but for the safety of the community as well.

Regardless of whether you are for or against vaccination, Mark’s photo of his sweet little girl proves one thing – he is a doting dad who loves his daughter. And we at Babyology applaud him for this.
