I hate to think how many hours I’ve whiled away browsing Etsy. One shop leads to another… and another and another. My Etsy visits usually begin with something particular in mind (most often my weakness, brooches) and end with lots of things other than brooches in my shopping bag – not that that is a bad thing. However, if you are after a particular item you can narrow down your Etsy search with Glancely.
Glancely instantly searches Etsy, sorting items by type and colour. My search for yellow brooches turned up a lovely little etched wooden lady knitting a yellow scarf from Crafty Folk, amongst others. As you enter your search criteria, Glancely immediately pops up thumbnail images of what’s on offer – hover your mouse over an image and you get a larger view, a price and a link to the Etsy store.
One word of warning (and perhaps my only gripe about this fabulous tool) – click on an image you like and it opens in the same window as opposed to a new online window. You have to keep backing out of Etsy stores to return to your Glancely search which is a little frustrating if it has turned up oodles of finds for you – which it will.
