Embroidered fabric rocks and mobiles by Hillery Sproatt

Little collections of shells, rocks and good luck charms are an enchanting part of childhood. Baltimore artist Hillery Sproatt understands the importance of these small things.

A self-confessed hoarder of small objects, Hillery makes special little fabric rocks so our little ones can start their own collections. Each rock has a hand embroidered character on both sides and comes in a hand painted bag. These beautiful objects remind us to look for the wonder in everyday things and to rediscover the magic of forgotten places. For this reason, they’re suitable for young and old alike.

I love Hillery’s hand sewn and embroidered fabric objects strung together (below); they would make such lovely nursery mobiles. Hillery tells me if you hang them from a window, they bring joy to people both inside and out.

Hillery’s fabric objects can be found on her website. Her rocks cost US$12 plus shipping and her mobiles start at US$70 plus shipping.
