First look at new Finding Dory movie shows forgetful fish still a favourite

Here’s an exclusive sneak peek of the movie sequel that has everybody flipping out.

Finding Dory will be released next June as the sequel to the incredibly popular animated Disney Pixar film Finding Nemo. Comedian and television host Ellen Degeneresback to voice the role of Dory, the lovable blue fish with short-term memory loss, released the clip on Facebook yesterday.

In the first film, Nemo, a clownfish, was captured on the Great Barrier Reef and taken to Sydney, leaving his dad in charge of bringing him back home. It won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature at the 2004 Academy Awards.

Billed as “an unforgettable adventure she probably won’t remember”, the trailer for Finding Dory shows that Nemo and Australia’s Great Barrier Reef are back too.

The clip was posted yesterday on the Ellen television show Facebook page and has already been viewed more than 33 million times.

“I’ve been waiting for 10 years to show you this #justkeepswimming,” Degeneres says.

Fans flooded the Facebook page with likes and comments, declaring their excitement and praise for what they’ve seen so far.

CiCi writes that she was “sure there are going to be more adults than children in the theatre… we’ve been waiting 12 years for this!”

“My husband and I had our first movie date to Finding Nemo in 2003, highschools sweethearts and now married with two kids!” Amy Shipp writes.

Jami Taormina says the music alone brings back memories of her oldest child watching Finding Nemo over and over: “My one-year-old was mesmerised by just this clip. I can’t wait.”
