When Eeni Meeni Miini Moh told us they were launching their new winter kids collection today, we knew it would be good. Of course, it’s EMMM! What we didn’t expect is that it would trigger a mad impulse to add more wardrobe space to our kids’ rooms so that we could grab one of everything. Silly us, that’s the way it is with EMMM.

Think of everything we’ve ever told you about EMMM and the label’s bigger kids counterpart, e3-M, and it all applies to their latest collection for Autumn-Winter 2013. Beautiful designs, comfortable fabrics and perfect colours that confidently whisper ‘this kid has style’ in a way that leaves no room for doubt.

Here’s the thing with EMMM – the threads always look just right, whether they’re being worn to the park or to a party. Little girls get a triple dose of whimsy for this coming winter with all the ruffles, bows and frills they could want, while a welcome dash of polka dots, stripes and checks on leggings, skeggings and more takes the saccharine edge off in the most delightfully unassuming way. The dresses, as usual, are a delight too.

For pure fun, the bustle dress (above left) with its almost never-ending layers of ruffles, has it all going on. But there’s something about the Peter Pan collar frock (top of post) that makes me want to buy one in every colour – however many it comes in. EMMM’s designers have their favourite too – it’s the tulle dress, available in a French navy and eggshell polka dot print or alternatively, in cranberry and sorbet stripe (above right). Decisions, decisions.

For little boys, it’s all about dinosaurs. My own three-year-old is right-slap-bang in the middle of a fierce dinosaur phase, so it’s perfect timing. If your boy has been bitten by the T-Rex bug, you’ll love it too. Now cast your eyes slightly to the right. This is my favourite little boys’ outfit. Ever. Those stripes, those cords, that jacket. Sigh.

Here’s another one (above left) that’s going on my kinder wardrobe must-have list for my little guy. In fact, EMMM has us all spoilt for choice this winter when it comes to dressing boys. It’s the colours and cut of these cord pants that catch my eye, though I’m sure all our boys will care about is that they are bursting with enough pockets to stash all their treasures. There’s cargoes, jeans and dressier options as well.

The duffle coats – pink just for girls or in darker unisex options – are divine and there’s pea coats and jackets too with removable rabbit fur hoods and collars for the coldest winter days. Other fabrics that appear in the collection include jerseys, fine ribs, gauge knits, denims, French terry and dobby. I’m not sure how you all feel, but I’m glad to know that most of the fabrics are made from natural fibres.

EMMM’s signature bodysuits, jumpsuits, beanies and sleeping cocoons are among the adorable enfant collection offerings for babies, from newborns all the way to strapping eighteen-month-old toddlers. Dinosaurs and stripes are the go again for the littlest boys, with floral prints for baby girls.
