It’s always reassuring when a celebrity shows they are (kind of) just like us. Take Drew B1
Drew’s not letting the fact that she owns a fancy-schmancy beauty business stop her posting some real life, un-groomed glimpses into her own grey-haired, wild-browed struggle.
While Instagram is often a bit of a smokescreen, a way of portraying oneself in the most flattering and interesting manner possible, actor and Flower Beauty founder Drew Barrymore is bucking the trend.
She’s not only showing some of the less perfect bits of her life (admittedly amongst some pretty ideal-looking shots and experiences), she’s showing the hairs that grow between her eyebrows. Also the greys that stubbornly spring from her crown. #Blessed #KeepingItReal
“OH MY GOD. How did I let it get this bad?” Drew captioned the shot. “Base and brows needed. Must become her. #santaclaritadiet here we go again. Season Two.”
There are unconfirmed reports that even her rogue eyebrows were attempting to spell out the words “help me”.
This makes us love her all the more, and reminds us that, at some point, we might consider shaving our ankles and dealing with the moustache we’ve grown overnight. Or not. Whatever works.
Not only did Drew post a relatable wild and hairy shot, she also posted a shiny and hairy shot of herself and daughter Olive at the hairdresser with heads full of foils.
Drew was taming the greys in preparation for a new season of The Santa Clarita Diet, while Olive was having some patchy conditioning treatments in solidarity. Drew’s brows were still doing their own rogue thing, but we expect an update on them is imminent.
Drew is mum to two little girls – 5-year-old Olive and 2-year-old Frankie and the (literally) bloody Netflix series The Santa Clarita Diet is just the latest in a string of much-loved on-screen appearances.
We can’t wait to watch it. And also see what happens next, with Drew’s eyebrows.
