Like your (and your children’s) fashion a little left of centre? Then take a side step and journey with us into the curious world of Donna Wilson animal scarves – they’re wild!
Incomparable British designer Donna Wilson does like to take the ordinary and give it an extraordinary twist – like her instant cubbies. Or maybe she just looks at things with the eyes of a child? A bit like these gorgeous animal scarves.
They do remind me a little of those animal stoles that were once so fashionable, and thankfully are no longer so. But these are very cute, cuddly and serve the purpose of keeping adults and children warm. They come in either a bunny, fox or swan for grown-ups and a mini-swan for the kids.
I’m really partial to the Aberdeenshire Tartan Fox – because of the lovely little back story behind the tartan pattern. It was design by Donna, but commissioned by the Aberdeenshire Council, which asked local school children to present the colours they felt best represented their area of Aberdeenshire.
The scarves are woven from pure lambswool in Scotland and hand embroidered in London. The tartan fox version is £50, as is the bunny. The swan is £52.50, or £41.50 for the mini children’s version. The other fox version is £49, plus postage, which starts at £4.
