14 of the cutest Book Week costumes from 2017 (so far)

Book Week is upon us and we’re totally in awe of these cute costumes and their adorable booky characters.

Have a scroll through for inspiration for what to dress your child up as for his or her parade!

1. The butterfly from The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Awww! How adorable is this little paper plate caterpillar who has turned into a beautiful (grinning!) butterfly?

2. Skye and Everest from Paw Patrol

These two adorable sisters dressed as their favourite Paw Patrol characters and jazzed up their costumes with matching sparkly skirts.

3. Captain Underpants from Captain Underpants

Hehe, we’re loving the minimal effort this little guy put into his ‘nailed it’ costume. So cute!

4. The mad hatter from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

The shoes, the big orange wig and the stance. This little guy perfects dress up cool.

5. Gruffalo from The Gruffalo

We think this Gruffalo is way too cute for the big scary woods. Loving the woolly glove claws.

6. The green sheep from Where is the Green Sheep?

Look! There she is, in the book parade making everyone say, “awww!”

7. Mr Bump from the Mr Men books

We hope this little Mr Bump didn’t take a topple in the parade because that would be more than a little ironic.

8. Thelma from Thelma the Unicorn

We’re loving the sheer size of this little unicorn’s spiralling horn! How many toilet rolls did that take to make?!

9. Russell from Russell the Sheep

A toggly bath mat was used to create this adorable little sheep. Inventive!

10. Wally from Where’s Wally

It’s not so much the costume, but the expression on this little Wally’s face that makes her Book Week dress up so good.

11. The Wild Pork and Watercress from Wild Pork and Watercress

Now this costume is a whole lot of creative fun! We’re guessing the parents of these two have used up all of their phone storage snapping pictures. Adorable.

12. Miss Frizzle and student from The Magic School bus

A cardboard box and a whole lot of yellow paint was used to make this fun school bus costume.

13. Cat in the Hat from Cat in the Hat

There’s nothing mischievous about this sweet kitty but we think she’s the most adorable Cat in the Hat we’ve ever seen.

14. Hattie the hen from Hattie and the Fox

The glue gun got a work out to make this amazing felt leaf ‘bushes’ headpiece!
