In many ways, baby bottles are a lot like toothbrushes. Just when you think that there cannot possibly be any more innovations to something that performs a fairly straightforward task, a ‘new and improved’ version is released and you think “Wow! What a great idea!”
The new self-heating feeding bottle from Iiamo is certainly a good idea. I know there were plenty of times with my babies that I would plan the day’s itinerary around when I would be able to heat a bottle or by how long a bottle would stay warm in an insulated bag.
The Iiamo heats in four minutes without the use of batteries or electricity. Instead, it uses a heating cartridge that contains salt and water – how that works is likely to remain a magical mystery to me! Major brands of teats can be used with the Iiamo, such as Nuk and Pigeon.
Sold with the bottle are replacement heating cartridges, but there are no details about how often the cartridge has to be replaced. I’m sure this information will be revealed as customer reviews of the Iiamo start to hit the online world.
It’s somewhat comforting to note that, for style conscious babies, the Iiamo bottle was designed by Karim Rashid, who has also lent his hand to Prada, Georg Jensen, Audi and many more. Convenience, style and a full tummy….what more could you ask for?
The Iiamo bottle is available from Dansk Design and is 299SEK. If you’re not up with the current exchange rate for the Swedish Kronor, it equates to approximately $52. Dansk Design delivers to Australia.
