Tomorrow marks day two of Play School’s epic 50th anniversary celebrations. With stories from a Gold Logie-winning news presenter and songs from a true blue Australian idol, this show is bound to be brilliant.
We all fell in love with Guy Sebastian when he won the first Australian Idol back in 2003, and he’s been climbing the charts ever since. Performing Singing in the Rain for the Play School party, Guy is sure to croon out this classic number with his smooth pop vocals.
Sebastian has seven albums under his belt, number one songs and plenty of awards, but we bet his boys Hudson and Archer will choose his July 5 appearance on Play School as the pinnacle of his career. See it at 5pm on ABC KIDS.
At 8am Carrie Bickmore of The Project will read Family Forest, a lovely book about how families come in all shapes and sizes. Family forests are much more complex than trees; there are half siblings, step parents, adoptive dads and birth mums.
Given Carrie’s own blended family – her kids Oliver and Evie are half siblings – this reading is sure to be from the heart. Her first husband Greg – father to Oliver – died in 2010 after a decade-long battle with brain cancer. Bickmore continues to raise funds for brain cancer research and this winter she’s raised almost half a million dollars with her Carrie’s Beanies for Cancer campaign.
