Comedian turned daddy blogger live at Melbourne Fringe Festival

After the mummy blogger came the daddy blogger, and after the daddy blogger comes a comedy show at the 2016 Melbourne Fringe Festival. The Adventures of T-Bone and Sea Bass is a comedy show by Elvin Ho, a stay-at-home-dad and in his own words, lapsed comedian.

Elvin Ho hasn’t been on stage for nine years, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been busy. He’s the dad of T-Bone, a five-year-old with autism and Sea Bass a two-year-old that Elvin describes as “bonkers”.

His Melbourne Fringe Festival show is a comedy about life with kids. There’s a combination of stand-up and satire, and he explores topics like mental health, cultural identity and career potential.

Being a stay-at-home-dad gives Elvin a unique perspective on life as a parent. We still live in a culture where mums usually stay home with kids, and his blog is an interesting take on parenting life from a dad’s point of view. He writes about talking with kids about the election, disastrous outings to the aquarium and that time T-Bone got a big brass ring stuck on his finger and had to go to emergency. If the show is anything like his blog, the audience will be in stitches.

The Adventures of T-Bone and Sea Bass is at 24 Moons, 2 Arthurton Road in Northcote from 19-21 September at 8pm. Tickets are $20 and you can buy them online at Melbourne Fringe.
