Teaching table manners is hard slog, and mealtimes with little ones are hardly ever a dignified affair. If you’re finding dinner with the kids one of the most stressful times of your day, maybe the thing to cheer you up is some beautiful children’s cutlery.
This set of children’s cutlery from Co Zen is in the Japanese urushi style, which means it is a kind of lacquerware, made from tree sap, and has long been used in Japan to create dishes and utensils. The Co Zen set includes knife, fork, spoon, dessert spoon and chopsticks, plus the lid flips over to be a placemat – perfect for the modern child! Each item is individually handcrafted, which explains the ¥18,000 (or about $215) pricetag!
At that price, most of us won’t be swapping our plastic cutlery for it any time soon, but don’t feel left behind because at the moment it looks as though they don’t ship outside of Japan anyway.
Nevertheless, we’ll keep you posted if anything changes, and in the meantime, you can save up!
