Little limpets

Adorable-but-hyper-clingy baby that won’t let you out of her sight? It’s a perennial problem that will challenge your patience, and potentially make you lose your mind.

This hilarious mum was feeling those same frustrated feels when she decided to tackle the sticky-kid problem head on. Not only had she grown tired of her little boy fretting when she left the room, she had IDEAS about how to make him feel safe and secure, while making a bid for freedom (or at least going to the toilet without tears!)

A dose of Mcgyver-inspired pants-hacking later, and she’s stealthily drifting in and out of her baby’s view with ease and sparking dropped-jaws and rounds of applause from parents across the globe. The genius mum posted an image of her innovative, no-more-tears pants solution to Facebook and it’s being shared widely for laughs and inspiration.

DIY mum

A pair of pants, some Uggs and a bit of careful stuffing are apparently all you need if you want to pop into the kitchen and make a cuppa without your baby freaking out. The mum in question not only filled her jeans with teddies, she went the extra mile, setting her “feet” apart so her son could crawl in between them without realising she’d actually done a runner.

Clever Mum explains:

“My baby is going through that stage in which when I’m out of his sight, he starts crying, and I need to make lunch. He doesn’t want me to hold him or to play with him, he just needs to feel that I’m sitting there.”

“He doesn’t even look at me in the eyes, only turns around to check that me (or my leg), is indeed, there,” the mum continued.

“So I filled a pair of pants, put my shoes there and I’ve already made my meal and gone several times to the bathroom!”

The post has been shared over 2000 times and has attracted hundreds of approving comments.

Maybe this is the solution you’ve been looking for, in your quest to leave the room?!
