Cioccolato: bakery-bred design perfection

My first thought when I saw the gorgeous images of Cioccolato, a bakery in Monterrey, Mexico, was “Scrumdiddlyumptious!” – there is certainly a Willy Wonka aesthetic to the design.

Cioccolato was designed by Savvy-Studio of San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, México. Their brief was to create a delicious space to showcase custom desserts and hold special events – the space is in addition to the well-established Cioccolato pastry and cake brand.

The result is superb – sterile, science-lab white is used against playful details such as ‘dripping’ table legs and shelves, artfully arranged displays and bright pops of colour, whether that be the neon pink lighting or the icing on the cupcakes.

I do love the chocolate dripping from the shelves but my favourite part of the shop is the brightly-lit ‘Life is Sweet’ cupcake display cabinet – so beautifully presented, you may feel as if you are buying diamonds instead of sweet treats!
