Last week I had the pleasure of taking my youngest on a special outing to storytime and morning tea at Vaucluse Gardens. We had such a lovely time I wanted to share this special event with you all.
Vaucluse House is in the outer eastern suburbs of Sydney, only thirty minutes from the CBD. The charming 1930s interior has stained glass windows, polished floorboards and Bentwood chairs. A roomy balcony area leads onto a large garden for the kids to run around. Well worth a visit if you are a Sydney local or travelling to Sydney on holidays.
Children’s Storytime is held every three months and the perfect outing for pre-school aged children. The little ones participate in an interactive story led by Woollahra library. Every child gets a snack box and activity booklet. I hear you ask what parents do while all of this is happening? Well, we enjoy Devonshire tea in this gorgeous surroundings.
The next events will be held on Wednesday 24 August and Wednesday 30 November, so make sure you diarise these dates as spaces are limited. $20 admits one parent and child, an additional child is $10. There is free parking onsite, and to book email firstname.lastname@example.org
Vaucluse House Tearooms are open 10am to 4.30pm Wednesday to Sunday (and open every day during NSW school holidays). Devonshire tea is also offered in the cafe and there is a menu for children’s birthday parties.
