Children of the Tribe for free spirited fashion

It’s been many years since I last visited Byron Bay, but the memory of the beachside town’s surreal relaxed holiday vibe is as vivid as ever. For children’s wear as free spirited as the town it’s created in, look no further than the divine Children of the Tribe.

Children of the Tribe is owned and operated by a Byron based team and it’s fair to say, one look at these images and you’ll feel as though you’ve been on a holiday!

Children’s dressing should be simple. When a child dresses themselves, they wear all of their favourite things, throwing caution to the wind and not giving a single thought to clashing colour and prints – and it’s that carefree approach that I adore with the Children of the Tribe collection.

A mix of whimsical prints and patterns, at first look nothing really goes together, yet it all works. Children of the Tribe cater for babies with beautiful stretch leggings and pants, rompers and tops. Beautiful baby wraps ($34.95) double up as sarongs and pram covers, becoming a summer must have. My pick for babies, definitely the adorable Night Parrot Leggings, $34.95 and the Golden Leaves Frill Long Sleeve Top,$44.95.

Girls are spoiled for choice with plenty of sublime pieces on offer, including the beautiful fern leaf printed Rainbow Garden Shift Dress, $54.95 and the enchanting sepia toned Horses Run Wild Muscle Tee, $35.95.

Boys are treated to an excellent selection of shorts, my pick being the teal hued Tipi Vacation Shorts, $39.95 and while these Chambray Overalls ($49.95) are nestled within the girls category, as with most of the Children of the Tribe gear, for the most part they’re perfectly unisex.

While their clothing might be the main event, Children of the Tribe also play host to a whole lot of homewares and other bits and pieces you never knew you needed, such as this fab Sleepover Bag, $49.95 (pictured bottom). They also have a delightful selection of candles, sheets and cushions, it’s definitely a category not to be missed!

To see the collection in its entirety, hot foot it over to Children of the Tribe.
