Most families have a few holiday traditions that, while not ‘standard’ for everyone, are part of their festivities. For example, in my family we have a Christmas gingerbread house that is enjoyed on Boxing Day (usually in one go amongst my hungry little pack!).
This year we will be making our own gingerbread house – with a little help from The Gingerbread Shack. The Gingerbread Shack makes the most delicious gingerbread – for me, their gingerbread has exactly the right amount of spiciness and sweetness and a perfect soft but chewy texture.
The Gingerbread Shack sell ready-made gingerbread houses (for $55), but the real fun is in making your own (and they’ve done the hard work for you). Get the kids together for some construction and icing fun with a Gingerbread House Kit. It comes with gingerbread pieces (roof, walls and chimney), icing, a base board and decorative ribbons – all you have to add are the lollies of your choice. Gingerbread house kits are $29.95.
The Gingerbread Shack also has a huge, delicious range of iced cookies suitable for other celebrations such as birthday parties, as well as a gluten- and dairy-free range of treats.
