It’s just been revealed that actor and dad-of-four, Hugh Grant, is expecting his fifth child – the third with Swedish TV producer girlfriend, Anna Eberstein.
Fifth time’s a charm
The 57-year-old Bridget Jones star has two other kids with Anna, a two-year-old daughter and a five-year-old son, named John Mungo.
The new baby news beans were well and truly spilled when the couple walked the Golden Globes red carpet together and Anna, revealing their exciting news. Hugh is notoriously private when it comes to his children, keeping details pretty close to his chest, as much as he can.
Anna’s mum confirmed the news, telling a Swedish newspaper, “I’m very happy to be getting another grandchild. She’s due rather soon.”
Anna and Hugh apparently bought a £600 000 home in a remote Swedish fishing village just over a year ago, but they have no plans to marry.
Hugh is also dad to five-year-old Felix and six-year-old Tabitha, with actor Tinglan Hong.
“He went from being childless to a father of three in just 15 months, and Hong and Eberstein were pregnant with their sons at the same time,” US Weekly reports.
Hugh’s rep released a slightly dismissive (of Tinglan) statement back in 2011, when Hugh’s first child Tabitha was born.
“I can confirm that Hugh Grant is the delighted father of a baby girl. He and the mother had a fleeting affair and while this was not planned, Hugh could not be happier or more supportive. He and the mother have discussed everything and are on very friendly terms.”
Tinglan and Hugh went on to have a brother for Tabitha, a little boy named Felix, with the actor tweeting:
“In answer to some journos. Am thrilled my daughter now has a brother. Adore them both to an uncool degree. They have a fab mum.”
“And to be crystal clear. I am the Daddy.”
Not so fleeting after all, it’s fair to say.
“I feel a better person”
After Tabitha’s birth, which he missed due to intense media scrutiny and throngs of paparazzi gathering outside the hospital, Hugh says he was relieved he had no trouble with bonding, and becoming a dad had made him a better person.
“Um, lots of people warned me about [bonding issues]; they said never let anyone know, but the baby period is not that exciting,” Hugh told The Guardian. “But I am excited, actually. I thought, well, I’ll bluff through – but very little bluffing has been required. I like my daughter very much. Fantastic. Has she changed my life? I’m not sure. Not yet. Not massively, no. But I’m absolutely thrilled to have had her, I really am. And I feel a better person.”
The Lamb Daddy
Hugh says he’s a softie, not cut out for Tiger Mom style parenting, and that he’s approaching spoiling his kids financially with caution.
“I’ll be Lamb Daddy,” Hugh told The Guardian. “But also my other worry is about – and as I say, there are few things in life I believe in 100% – but another one is not giving your children money.”
“I see nothing but fuck-ups among my trust-fund friends. It’s like 99% fuck-ups. So I would not want to do that to my children, no.”
Hugh’s your daddy to ….
Tabitha – aged 6, with Tinglan Hong
Felix – aged 5, with Tinglan Hong
John Mungo – aged 5, with Anna Eberstein

Congratulations to Anna and Hugh on their excellent news.
