Bring artwork to life with stray notions

There are only so many paintings done by your kids that you can hang on your wall and for all the creative energy that goes into each piece, I often wish these masterpieces were on something a little more special than butchers paper.

Etsy crafter Stray Notions translates the drawings and paintings of children into finely embroidered canvas tote bags. Using a digital image of the original artwork, Stray Notions recreates the masterpiece with a combination of embroidery and appliqué. The bags are then lined with another layer of canvas to protect the embroidery.

I think this is a fantastic and useful way to preserve those gems that deserve more than a spot on the fridge! Prices vary depending on the piece, so contact Stray Notions directly with your ideas.

Katrina studied planning and design, did the hard yards working in a big office building and then traded it all in for a relaxing (!) life at home with four children. She now fills her time with writing, completing a degree in genetics and taxiing her children around Melbourne to their various sporting commitments (not necessarily in that order).
