That baby up there knows she’s on to a good thing! Ever had to store one of those gigantic picnic baskets? Yes we all love a good outdoor feed in the warmer months but if the weather is less than pleasant, staring at a huge basket taking up valuable space sure won’t improve the chances of it getting better.
Here’s a nifty idea for a compact picnic box complete with utensils, plates, bowls, cups, napkins and rubbish bags (four of each). The trick with Boxsal is that it’s all compostable! You can use, reuse, reuse again and again, then pop it all into the compost for the ultimate in eco-friendly disposable feeding ware.
Feeling starved of sunlight on this dreary winter day, it’s making me a little wistful to see these glorious pictures of sunny picnics. I can set that aside to sing Boxsal’s praises as I always feel guilty on the odd occasion when I use disposable plates, cups or utensils. I love that for US$35 you can have a set which will last quite a while, then be disposed of with little impact to our environment.
The Boxsal blog is thoroughly entertaining with unique picnic tips and recipes. Let your kids colour in the outside of the box as you recline under a tree. There are three box designs to choose from and extra utensil sets can be purchased if needed. Currently Boxsal isn’t available in Australia but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for its release.
