Beachside living for dolls

I think I have doll house envy left over from childhood. A friend had a fabulous doll house that, in retrospect, I realise was actually her mum’s obsession – we were only allowed to stand at a distance and admire the detail.

So I’m always on the look out for a unique doll house and recently happened across the divine Ocean Drive model from The Dolls House Emporium. The house has a modern, open plan design with flowing indoor and outdoor spaces, a rooftop patio, sliding screen doors and includes a pool (similar to the Lundby house featured previously).

The house is 1:12 scale and can be furnished with either funky modern pieces in bright colours or retro timber furniture. Complete the look with any number of accessories available from The Dolls House Emporium, including self-adhesive wallpapers, carpets and tiles – every lounge room needs a shag-pile!

Priced from £93, you’ll have to seriously consider whether you’ll let the kids play with it.

The Dolls House Emporium also makes fabulous little busy boxes – cute and portable self-contained playsets that include furniture, dolls and accessories for doll house action on the go. There’s lots to choose from including a café, a hospital, a school, knights in a castle and more. Prices for busy boxes average £26.

The Dolls House Emporium ships to Australia.

She now fills her time with writing, completing a degree in genetics and taxiing her children around Melbourne to their various sporting commitments (not necessarily in that order).
