Summer is well and truly on its way and it’s time to think about getting sun smart. Of course, that includes putting on a hat to keep little heads and faces shielded from the sun. Acorn Kids have just released their new summer collection of hats for babies and kids, and there’s a lot to like!
From geometric patterns to pretty florals, skulls to whales, Melbourne designer Fiona Savaris has come up with a plethora of zippy and fun styles for her Acorn Kids label this summer. There’s even a Minecraft-esque sunhat and trucker cap for the boys – the perfect antidote for older kids like my nine-year-old who think they’re too “cool” to sport a hat.
All bucket style hats, whether for boys or girls, have an adjustable toggle strap at the chin so that hats stay put in the wind – very important for summer strolls along the pier or water’s edge – and can be adjusted around the head too, for a perfect fit.
The other good thing to note about the new summer hat range from Acorn Kids is that all the sunhats and bucket hats are made from cotton for breathability in the Aussie sun – no sweaty heads here.
The girl’s hats are the picture of perfection, all on-trend florals and pretty geometrics. There’s edgier caps too, for little misses who know their fashion minds. Some of the girls’ sunhats are reversible and sport a plainer pattern on the inside, so they can be mixed and matched as you like.
The summer 2014/15 collection of hats are priced from $29.95 and come in sizes and styles to fit from newborn to eight years old. Summer hats will be available to purchase online from Acorn Kids from the end of September or check their website to find a stockist near you.
