Magnolia Square is an event that I mark in my diary well in advance. Like many other Melburnians, I look forward to seeing the special wares on offer at the Magnolia Square fair.
Magnolia Square showcases the work of boutique designers and artists and encompasses a range of products from homewares and stationery to clothing and food. I’m loathe to even mention the word ‘craft’ because it’s not a ‘craft market’. Rather, it brings together handmade things of the highest quality that have a distinguishable designer edge. Devotees, like me, keep returning to the fair because there is always something new on offer.
The ‘Tiny and Small’ Magnolia Square fairs feature hip stuff for the tiny and small. From funky soft toys and fashion to the latest in kids’ luggage, you will find pieces that are unique and unlike anything available in mainstream stores.
So after four highly successful years in Melbourne, Sydney-siders are at last being treated to the Magnolia Square experience.
Beginning Thursday July 2, 2009, the inaugural Sydney Magnolia Square will be held at the Tea House at Royal Randwick, Allison Road, Randwick. The fair runs for three days only and finishes on Saturday July 4, 2009. Go to Magnolia Square for all the details or email them and they’ll send you a handy magnet to stick on the frige with all the upcoming dates. Melburnians have August, November and December dates to look forward – see you at the fair!
