As we’ve just finally reorganised our study (thank you Ikea!), I’ve noticed that the walls are decidedly bare and need some sunshine brought to them. I’ve thought through all my options carefully and decided I want some inspiring prints to hang above the desk, as this is my creative outlet where I do most of my writing.
I immediately delved into the Etsy realm of handmade and one-of-a-kind goodness and came across a shop called Doe-c-doe. I knew right away that I’d found my place of inspiration. The photographic works combine a few of my loves: vintage, retro, unique objects and beautiful composition.
The shop is run by Gina Bailey, who makes, takes and creates all the lovelies for sale. A full-time graphic designer, she has combined her love of photography, small things and thrifting to create the series called ‘Small World.’ The red vintage Fisher Price camera on a turquoise background is striking and I’m sure a few of us will remember it from when we were growing up. I personally fancy the little squirrel vying for a bite of the yummy cupcake. The photographs Gina has taken with vintage paint by numbers backgrounds are also incredibly innovative.
She has many prints to choose from that would be an imaginative way to spark up the nursery or add a touch of originality to any part of your house. All are available in easy-to-frame 8 x 10 prints, printed on premium Kodak paper and at US$16 each you can afford to get a few. So make your way to Doe-c-doe to snap some up as initial quantities are limited! To view the full list of photographs available, visit her Flickr page.
