ABC Kids Expo Las Vegas Featured Items

I have just returned from the first day at the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas, and it is amazing. I am completely overwhelmed by the size of the show and the rows and rows of exhibitors. I took a shot to try and show you how large it actually is – keep in mind this is only one section of one level.

Here are a few new items from favourite brands that caught my eye on Day One (please excuse any typos – it’s midnight here and I haven’t slept in 36 hours)

Hoppop is a brand that just launched today at the show and has some lovely potties, foot stools, baby baths and ride on toys. The Otto ride on comes in four colours and will retail at US$34.99.

Olli is a booster seat by Clek that provides a safe and comfortable seat for your older child (18-54 kilos), recommended for ages four and over. We love the new colours and the four new designs by Paul Frank, all shown below.

From the makers of the stunning Wee.go bottles that recently hit Australia come these silicone teethers. I have to say they look stylish enough to wear as a bracelet, ensuring they are always on hand for little ones to use when out and about. The colours are terrific and I hope they make their way to our shores very soon.

I met the owner and designer at Hushamok, Julie Soboil, to see the new designs, wooden frames and new seat shown below that will be in stores soon. Julie also shared some of the lovely new prints planned for the Hushamok. They are designed in NZ and come in shades of green and black. These will be in stores in 2010 so we’ll keep you posted with more images once they are released.

I fell in love with these gorgeous felt baby carriers over at Petunia Pickle Bottom. They are part of the Scout range which we mentioned back in July 2008 on Babyology. These are so cozy and warm and perfect for either Mum or Dad to tote around bubs.

One of our favourite brands on Babyology that we caught up with today was Boon. They had a huge array of new products launching at the show as well as some prototypes, which I was quick to offer positive feedback on!

I love the concept of this shoe tree below, that they have named ‘Curl’, to hang on your kid’s cupboard. Little shoes are so stylish these days, why not display them while keeping little shoes together and saving space at the bottom of the cupboard at the same time.

‘Snag’ is a nine-hook unit with rounded edges for bags, hats and other items that will complement any child’s room or living area. This is a perfect solution to all the things cluttering the floor at my house (hats, cardigans, scarves etc).

I do love ‘grass’ as a new concept for a drying rack. This will complement any kitchen benchtop.

One of my favourites from the new range (although still a prototype) is ‘wrap’ which allows you to use your own bowls and plates to feed your little ones. Wrap is a plate and bowl covering that a has a suction cup base to keep your baby from picking up the bowl or plate, while the wrap also protects it if dropped.

I couldn’t go past these gorgoeus little bath critters without taking a few shots and playing with them (although the display sign clearly said `no touching’). They are called ‘Creature Cups’ and will drain and pour in the tub. These sea creatures have interchangeable tops and bottoms.

We’ll have more details and specifics on other brands later in the week when we talk to the designers. There are so many new products to share with you, I can hardly wait to get back there tomorrow and see some more products.

Tomorrow I will share the latest in prams, with some exciting new releases coming to Australia in 2010.
