A unique find – little wooden robots from Egg and Yolk

Have you ever wondered where to find those unique little items that give a nursery that extra bit of character? You know, the ones on Pinterest or splashed across a magazine spread? Well, in case you haven’t already worked it out, you simply look here on Babyology. Check out these cute little robots we’ve found which are made right here in Australia.

Made from recycled cypress pine, the robots look great as ornaments and are fun to play with too. Because no piece of wood is the same, each robot looks a little different to the next. And if you ask me, that originality just adds to the charm. I’m sure all the wooden toy lovers out there will agree.

These little guys make a great pal for your munchkin – and they’re something different too.

The robot’s arms and feet can all rotate and you can adjust how stiff the arms are by tightening or loosening them with a screwdriver.

Egg and Yolk was started by Melbourne designer Carl Sturtz and his friend, Taiwanese designer Yu Hsiu Li. Thankfully for all of us, when Yu returned to Taiwan, Carl kept things up and is now running the show.

Each robot is $37 and can be purchased from the Egg and Yolk online store or, when Carl puts extra stock up, they’re also available on Etsy. Another popular Egg and Yolk item is the wooden toy camera, which is almost as adorable as the robots. Make sure you check it out while you’re online.
