A monster book (with a monster price tag)

Monsters of the Household Variety

Monsters of the Household Variety

Every household has them – ‘monsters’ that move things, take things and hide things. Our household monsters are hard at work the whole time, mostly hiding my husband’s mobile phone, keys and wallet but also known to occasionally relocate my sunglasses. Everything you have suspected is true and now all those mischievous household monsters have been recorded and documented in Monsters of the Household Variety.

This monster-sized book records all you need to know about the most loveable household monsters – the light bulb popper, remote control remover and hot water runner, to name a few.

Monsters of the Household Variety comes with a fairly hefty price tag – it will set you back a cool US$1200 – so you might not be adding this book to the kids’ library just yet . However, it is more a work of art than simply a book. Artist Ruth Ashton has hand stitched each ‘cotton’ page in incredible detail, bringing the monsters to life.

Monsters of the Household Variety is available at Anthropologie but shipping to Australia is not offered.

Katrina studied planning and design, did the hard yards working in a big office building and then traded it all in for a relaxing (!) life at home with four children. She now fills her time with writing, completing a degree in genetics and taxiing her children around Melbourne to their various sporting commitments (not necessarily in that order).
