One part adventure, one part other-worldly, A Little Pocket’s new collection is inspired, and full of patterns and shapes the likes of which we’ve never seen before.
We’ve long admired the designs of Melbourne kids’ label, A Little Pocket. The designs are always fresh, surprising and unafraid of taking risks. The new collection, Journey to the Centre, riffs on the 80s sci-fi novel of almost the same name, and is full of intrigue and imagination.
Designs are exotic and strange, with prints of bizarre flowers, foreign cities and alien mountainscapes. The collection weaves a tale of exploration, and as usual A Little Pocket’s lookbook tells that story perfectly.
With the exception of loose shift dresses ($54.90) and a fairy floss pink, faux fur jacket, most of this collection is unisex. There are silver marle harem pants and checked long-sleeved tees in unexpected shades of navy, pink, lavender, turquoise and gold.
We love the speckled charcoal oversized jumper ($44.90) that manages to look like a basic, and also like it’s covered in constellations of distant solar systems.
The collection’s star piece is the Karma Jumper ($44.90) with its giant white flowers printed on black with blooms and blots of colour at their centres. There are sizes 12 and 14 for tweens, and maybe, just maybe, a petite mama could get away with wearing it too.
A Little Pocket’s Journey to the Centre collection, made right here in Australia, is available online and shipping within Australia is $10.
